What Is ITPP?

ITPP (Myo-Inositol Trispyrophosphate) is a synthetic compound derived from inositol. It has garnered attention in scientific research for its ability to modulate hemoglobin-oxygen binding.

This property makes it a promising candidate for improving oxygen delivery to tissues, enhancing physical endurance, and potentially benefiting cognitive and longevity-related pathways.

One of the most popular compounds in the past few years in the biohacking space has been cardarine. Cardarine has an amazing ability to boost endurance to new heights, but the drawback is the cancer fear with it that was seen in rat studies.

With that fear of cancer many new alternatives popped up. One of those alternatives was ITPP.

Now the issue with ITPP is that it is very hard to find and source. Luckily I have found two sources one that has an injectable and one that has an oral version. At the time of publishing this article, Modern Aminos oral ITPP is not out just yet.

How Does ITPP Work In the Body?

ITPP works by modifying hemoglobin, the protein responsible for carrying oxygen in red blood cells. Hemoglobin binds oxygen in the lungs and delivers it to tissues throughout the body. Normally, hemoglobin has a balance between oxygen binding (loading) and release (unloading).

  • ITPP Reduces Oxygen Affinity:
ITPP alters hemoglobin by reducing its affinity for oxygen. This means hemoglobin releases oxygen more easily to tissues, improving oxygen delivery where it is needed most.
  • Enhanced Oxygenation of Hypoxic Tissues:
Hypoxic tissues (areas deprived of oxygen) are a focus of ITPP research because the compound may help restore oxygen levels in these areas. This has implications for conditions like ischemia, cancer, and chronic illnesses where oxygen delivery is impaired.
  • Selective Action on Hypoxic Tissues:
One of ITPP’s advantages is its targeted action on low-oxygen environments, which reduces the risk of excessive oxygenation in healthy tissues.

Benefits of ITPP

Improved Exercise Performance:
Studies suggest ITPP may enhance physical endurance and performance by improving oxygen delivery to muscles during intense exercise, delaying fatigue, and accelerating recovery. So wether you are a bodybuilder looking for more muscular endurance or a cyclist looking to ride for longer ITPP is one of the most powerful endurance boosters around. In my opinion it is on par with cardarine in terms of being able to boost endurance capacity.

Potential Therapeutic Uses in Hypoxia:
ITPP is being explored for conditions involving tissue hypoxia, such as:

    • Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD): To improve oxygenation.
    • Cancer: One of the key things that ITPP is being studied for is its effects with paired with Chemotherapy in the treatment of cancer. Infact that is where alot of the research is being done with this compounds Tumor hypoxia is a key resistance factor to radiation therapy.
    • Cardiovascular conditions: To support ischemic tissue recovery after events like heart attacks or strokes.

Support for Brain Function:
By improving oxygen supply, ITPP may support cognitive health and mitigate conditions related to cerebral hypoxia, like Alzheimer’s disease or other neurodegenerative disorders.

Anti-Ischemic Effects:
It may provide protection against damage in conditions of reduced blood flow, such as peripheral artery disease (PAD) or diabetic ulcers.

Improved Sleep

Based on some anecdotes and theories some think that sleep improves while using ITPP.

Side Effects of ITPP

While ITPP shows promise, research into its safety and tolerability is ongoing. Some potential side effects observed or hypothesized include:

  • Hemodynamic Changes:
Increased oxygen delivery may lead to lower systemic oxygen saturation, potentially causing dizziness, light-headedness, or fatigue in some cases.
  • Electrolyte Imbalances: Hypercalcemia
Some studies suggest it may interfere with ionic balances in cells, though this has not been conclusively proven.
  • Allergic Reactions or Sensitivity:
As with any compound, there is a theoretical risk of allergic or sensitivity reactions in some individuals.
  • Long-Term Safety Unknown:
Long-term effects are not yet well understood, and additional research is needed to establish comprehensive safety data.

My Experience With ITPP

Now I have used ITPP in many different ways. For me it shines during a cutting phase when your calories are low. When I use it cardio becomes a breeze, and I notice I have much better success with things like optimizing my cognitive function.

Really it blows me away. I feel like super man when I am on this mentally and physically.

I feel like the nootropic benefits do not get talked about enough with this compound as it gives me a great burst of energy. Even when my calories were low I felt very capable of being able to handle alot of physical and mental stress.

ITPP Dosing

Oral (To be honest oral dosing works fine both the injectable and the oral work well)

Some people when it comes to dosing will do a loading phase when starting I have found this this can beneficial in helping the effects of it.

Beginner: 100-200mg 3 days per week

Intermediate 250-350mg 3 days per week

Advanced 400mg+ 3 days per week

My personal dosing for a nootropic benefit is 500mg 3 times per week Monday-Wednesday-Friday. This dosing can get very expensive**

Injectable Dosing Scheme

  • 25mg Beginner
  • 50: Intermediate
  • 100mg+: Advanced

The dosing can go higher with the injectable, but based on the source I used to get 100mg you need to pin 2mls

My personal injection dosing is 50mg 3 times per week of the better though biology formula

I will typically have guys stay on a protocol during the intensive parts of their season or near the competition. Usually they will stay on for 4-6 weeks before coming off.

Conclusion

In conclusion ITPP has become one of my absolute favorite compounds for both my mental and physical performance.

It’s role in longevity is also super interesting and I think the more we learn about this product the more of the benefits we will learn!

The only risk right now is the fact that it still lacks proper research although it is being investigated quite heavily in cancer research!
